Where is Your Next Road?

A long stretch of pilgrim road on the Camino Frances to Santiago de Compostela. Spain, 2013.

The world went on hold in the year that shall not be named, and so did I. I couldn’t even begin to think about the possibility of a walk through England, France, Switzerland, and Italy, although I must have been somewhat optimistic because I took French lessons and bought a really cool pair of sunglasses. Sunglasses? Really?

Most people start with a guidebook, but the guidebook I ordered for the Via Francigena is delayed reaching me, and I might have an aversion to guidebooks. To address my guidebook anxiety head-on, this Friday’s post explores a diverse set of Camino guidebooks by women, which seems particularly appropriate given the history of the guidebook. More on that Friday.

Thanks for being a part of my walking community, whether you join me from your armchair or with an intention like mine to take a long walk when the world is ready.
